Well it will probably be 5 days until I paint and 6 days until I move. I'm so excited and anxious. I'm so nervous about CJ though. He's been such a naughty dog lately. He's destroyed two of my favorite pair of strappy sandals and a new bra! He drags them out to the backyard first, then chews. I will seriously die if he ruins any of Kari's things. I think if I buy him more toys to chew on, it will be better. At least I hope so.

8 days until moving...
There's really nothing too interesting to write about lately. I do have a moving date though - March 2nd. I'm super excited about this move and probably more excited about my bedroom makeover. I'm doing a chocolate brown and baby blue color scheme. It's something different enough that I want to do a practice run in my friend's house before my own in a year or two. I think I'm going to love it though.
One of my sister's friends is moving into the apartment I'm moving out of. I'm not sure what gave her the idea that this was okay, but she called me on Friday night while I was out to tell me she had just moved all her stuff in boxes into my living room. WHAT? I get home and she did, in fact, move all her stuff to my house. Apparently she had to move in early because her parent's wouldn't let her go to Mexico with friends next weekend, so she moved out so she could go.
So my water heater is fixed, or at least supposed to be today. There are no longer holes in my laundry room wall. My kitchen floor is still torn up and there are boxes strewn throughout my house. Now, I know there are starving children all over the world, so this may sound pretty selfish, but can't I just move tomorrow?

Dentist
This will be short. Do NOT go three years between visits to the dentist. That's really all I have to say about that.

Missing Duck

I live in a guest house in my parent's back yard. This is a bit of a sore subject for me because I am very independent and had lived away from home for seven years before moving back and I only moved back to go to school. I figured law school was enough debt by itself and I could save money by living for free.
With that said...There has been water leaking in my laundry room for quite some time now. I've told my dad about it several times and he has consistently ignored me. Only when it started to smell like a rotten garbage can, did he decide it may be time to act (and then only after blaming me for not telling him). He asked his cousin's son, who is a "supposed" plumber to come assess the situation. His assessment of the situation was to cut two HUGE holes out of the wall clear through to the outdoors. Only then did he decide the leak was actually coming from the water heater and not from inside an otherwise perfect wall. Then he left.
Second problem: There is linoleum in my kitchen that has seen better days. I've been promised tile since I moved in, but I've seen no evidence of any forthcoming. Saturday morning...TK sleeping...screeching and scraping coming from my kitchen. My 13 year old brother decided it would be the perfect time to run a shovel across cement in his efforts to pull the linoleum up. After about 20 minutes of this, he apparently tired and went on with his Saturday, leaving my kitchen in absolute shambles and only about 25% of the floor gone. He even pushed my kitchen table and chairs in front of my hallway leaving me no alternative but to crawl under the table to exit my apartment. I call that a fire hazard!
Don't even get me started about the various smells in my apartment.
So the state of my living situation is this: My kitchen is a tornado. My laundry room still has two holes in it with a big welcome sign inviting all creatures in. I have no hot water and am currently sharing a bathroom with my 13 and 22 year old brothers. It's fantastic!
There is a sign up all over the neighborhood that says MISSING DUCK accompanied with a phone number. I assume the phone number is of the poor former duck owner that thinks we live in a trailer park!
I'm moving in three weeks.
